The winner of the 2004 Observer Hodge Photographic Award in association with Olympus, is Philipp Ebeling, a 27-year-old photographer. Ebeling's portfolio 10 minutes one January afternoon in Whitechapel was felt by the judges to be the most striking and coherent of the entries.
